You can get to know my professional background here.
I have always been inclined towards the way human psyche works and felt a sense of deep empathy for human pain. Thus Psychology has been one of my main subjects from the pre-university level. I then graduated in Psychology as well. Thereafter I completed M.Sc.Psycho Social Rehabilitation from Fr. Muller Medical College, India. This experience taught me the clinical aspects of treating a range of mental health issues.
I observed that there were many mental health professionals around in India to help individuals with psychological conditions but not enough of support was available for well functioning individuals experiencing relationship difficulties or trauma . This understanding took me in the direction to complete my Post graduate diploma in Psycho-Sexual therapy and Psychotherapy. Consequently I completed M.Sc. in Counselling Psychology at Teesside University in England. Work experience in England taught me how to work with an integrative approach in therapy . Furthermore I got the opportunity to be trained in play therapy and couples therapy .
In order to provide effective and ethical therapy via a safe online platform, I have obtained a certificate in telephone and online counselling that is recognised by BACP and ACTO (Association for counselling and therapy online ) in the UK.
I have completed my training which included practicums in EMDR therapy approved by Emdria, USA. In addition to this I attended a workshop in Attachment focussed -EMDR by Laurel Parnell, USA which enables me to apply Af-EMDR.
I chose the path to first work on myself in therapy. Through this experiential knowledge I then wished to share my learnings with others so that they could optimize their lives. I ensure I go for regular supervisions to review the quality of my work as well as the clients progress. Through CPD (continuous professional development) I am constantly updating myself with regards to Psychotherapy.
I have more than a decade of experience in the field of psychology & psychotherapy. Nevertheless I continue to learn more.
